Calling all scythe-users and novices... There's a West Country Scything weekend event on 16th-17th June down in Somerset. Workshop and Competition, also music and stalls. Hmm...I'd love to. It's a long way from Aberdeenshire though... I'll have a think about it.

Just wondering about future years... How many Scottish / northern scythers are there [two of us, for starters], and should we organise a similar event of our own, or try persuading the event organisers to hold one up here ?

I enjoy using a scythe. I find it therapeutic in the evening after all the chores are done. It is also is a lot quieter than a strimmer. I was taught how to use it properly by my father.
