You would need to extract the pigment from the skin first; the only way I know of doing this (when dyeing wool) is by simmering in hot water. You could use the water (cooled) to add to teh fats and caustic soda. It seemed easier at the time to shake some turmeric into a little of the soap mixture, mix it thotoughly, then amalgamate it with the main batch.
Might try the onion just out of interest, though.
Onion juice makes good invisible ink, by the way
Not very cammomile-y really, but it may come through stronger after curing.
I used about a teaspoon of turmeric I should think, but just shook it in without measuring. I'm expecting the colour to lighten as it cures as well.
My weakness is lavender soap, so when I get an industrial quantity of that from Suma that'll be on the menu too

They're a nice size - what did you use for a mould? Mine have all changed colour as they've got older (must be all of a week old now!!!) and smells too. The egg and lemon one now smells of cake mixture and is a lot less gungy (I think it might nake it after all) Not sure about the castille - I haven't peeked today. I'm trying to forget about it, but it's worse that waiting for Santa Claus
Ashamed to say, a plastic tray that contained the button mushrooms that Mr D likes for Sunday breakfast, albeit organic grown in Suffolk mushrooms...............
Now washed out and ready to go for the lavender soap (all mine...................... ) at the weekend. I reckon they should last at least a year, but plastic packaging...................oh dear.
