Any suggestions of how to clear moss off tarmac. Its gone slippy and so is a bit dangerous now. I tried jet washing, took ages to do a small patch and was rather messy plus it just came back straight away.

Need to be aware of dogs / cats and wildlife that hop accross the area but think I need some sort of strong weed killer.

any ideas please

pressure washer and maybe jeyes it after? or get a weed burner thing? burn the hell out of them

As misty says, I powerwash then scrub with jeyes, about one a year, the drive faces north and is permanently shaded, often damp.

yeah, daft thing is a lot of it is south facing but still gets lots of moss. The power washer seemed to take for ever and as its a really big drive I was looking for a more direct dare I say easier option than just hard work and water. But really dont want to put anything down thats going to be bad for animals etc.

jeyes aint bad for animals anyway is it? they use it in kennels etc i used it in stables and my chook coop aswell

No think Jeys would be ok, but would it be ok without clearing the moss first? Do you think it would kill it?

With concrete I've scraped off with a spade. Might damage tarmac.

Red Diesel,even watered down a bit,will do the trick.

I use a hoe, effective, slightly less aggressive.

Our drive used to have a lovely growth of moss & sedum, but when we had builders in they managed to kill it all off with cement, skip lorries, wheel barrows & sweeping up. So it went all grey & boring. It's only just starting to come back after 4 years.

jeyes isn't good for animals it can be absorbed through the pads. If you use it you make sure the area is well flushed after. Salt and a stiff yard brush and good olde elbow grease
