A couple of finishing touches. After all the heavy duty stuff the little bit of extra decking and small gravel path is just spikes gravel and sleepers.

Looks good. How come all your beds look thriving and full the minute you put them in? It takes husband about a year to get round to cutting the materials and another year to get round to putting them in and filling them, then I have to sow or plant out. Can't handle the western red cedar boards on my own, and he reserves the right to do the woodwork. I let him as if I do it he only critisises.

Something has occurred to me, I have a couple of new sleeper offcuts, and a couple of new sleepers. Also not withstanding it's full of crap at the moment and will be filled with more raised beds, it's still going to be the composting area and not a great view. So why not create a substantive feature with the sleepers?

It's just basic 4mm twinwall. I figure I am making it significantly stronger than the existing greenhouse. A greenhouse that is not quite strong enough for the wind here! My attitude is that this is not critical, if it's not enough repairing it stronger is easy.

The piles of old decking and other timber now off the drive and screws removed. Driveway still looks like it's been flytipped but is a lot better.
The driveway is massive and I may recycle the timber stack into yet more raised beds and install them there.

very nice

the open plan edge is a bold move

titanic would have been a very different movie if ms winslet had no rail to grab onto

a few bits of timber and a rope might be a wise interim bit of h and s

ps for a bit under a decade my "rural home" had a steepish slope, a narrow ledge and a 95 foot drop onto sharp rocks as a garden boundary

no fence, dogs wise, us wise even if etc

a wandering stranger went another road, then (after 9 days looking) i found the body and later went to the funeral

the "infinity" deck is ace and i would be happy with it, some folk are careless with gravity.

Ouch, I keep Jean away from the "edge" here, she can fit and it may not be 95 feet, but I reckon you could do severe damage.
I need to sort water butts and do a bit more on the guttering, but things are pretty much done for the year now.
We have had a few little floods again, but nothing like what I have posted before, so still waiting to see more of where the water gets to.

i wondered if a "boxing ring "type post and nice rope would make a practical and attractive safety rail?

it should work for adults, rug rats might need further thought

I'm figuring big pots will do the trick. So you simply cannot get that near the edge.
