we are doin a property that is going to be totally self sufficent.

no boiler or fule of any kind are being installed, nor is mains electric.

15kw Wind Turbine

Solar thermall to heat swimming pool and underfloor heating.

Two heat pumps to back up solar in evenings and winter etc.

(note the lack of solar P.V)

Rain water harvesting will also be installed as will insulation.

Brilliant, it'd be great to see and hear what your plans are. What are you doing about lighting/electricity when there's no wind?

Whereabouts is this in the UK ?
And what kind / level of insulation has it got ?
Any other / interesting power-saving devices ?
Also, is it being built for a specific person (by commission,as it were), or by a developer to sell on the open market ?

the house is on the coast and tests have shown that it would be very rare for there to be no wind. even on still days the wind is 16mph at hight. The property is front line to the beach. It is being built for a develpoer in his own home. Cost has been no problem. Should be a good progect.

We are doing another job at the moment of 3.4kw Solar P.V system, and a solar thermall system powering underfloor heating through a Gledhill Torrent cylinder.

Have you got any more info on it such as size, layout etc as I would be very interested to hear (read) more.
