PMSL ... you can call me anything you like online ... but face-to-face, I only answer to Vanessa. Or darling or sweetheart (but these only from my husband!)
There's very little in the way of news that happens in our area. I'm desperate for apples and the local newspaper is usually just as desperate for something to fill their pages. Today, I'm going to approach them to see if they'll do a small feature on my embryo business. With a bit of luck, I'll get offers of apples and they'll get some copy.

I will have an orchard of apples that fall and rot. Should you be near Hereford, they are yours (or anyone else's)
One guy comes, takes a ton and delivers me some cider, bUt there's always an excess, that go to waste.
Its a great shame that we have to blank out phone and car reg numbers but unfortunately, its something that we just have to do. Not on this forum or my own, but its amazing how many saddo toss pots there are hanging around in the ether. Unfortunately, we have had experience of some of them from time to time.
Nick thats a fantastic offer and while we'll be down in your county in the next few months, we'll already have a full load of apples on board. Out of interest, when do you reckon yours are usually ready for collection?
I'm on a steep learning curve at the moment and its only recently that I learned that windfalls are not suitable for apple juicing and that apples for juicing should be picked straight from the tree. Thats because of something called patulin.
Additional signage for my van.
Some of you will remember that a few years ago I had my van sign written for our cider and apple juice business. There was always the small panels on the front doors that I couldn't think what to do with, well now that space has been filled. The sign writer nipped in today and did this. I'm pretty pleased, what do you think? It certainly can't do any harm.

I haven't read it all, but in case no-one has suggested how to get some more apples from sources, I thought super markets. They think a bruised apple is no use, but a windfall is bruised usually so their bruised apples could be of use to you. They may be only too pleased to get rid of their excess apples as well i.e. out of date, for a small consideration lets face it they ain't going to sell bad apples or dated ones are they?
