Thank you Bagpuss. When they say "Our Basic 5 fuel can be used by anyone. To use our Pure 100 fuel you need to become a member, please contact us for details ..." they make it sound rather as though even those of us with bog-standard petrol engines could use the fuel, too, whereas I thought it was only diesel engines and modified petrol ones (with a heater).

No modification should be necessary for any recent *diesel* to run biodiesel.

A heater is part of the modification of a *diesel* to run on Veg Oil.

Don't put Veg Oil or Biodiesel into ANY *petrol* engine.

Petrol engine biofuels based on Ethanol (alcohol, as in booze) are uncommon in the UK, but should be more prevalent shortly. No modification should be needed to use around 5% Ethanol, but to use 85% or 100% Ethanol effectively, the engine needs adjustment (and most engines don't have enough range on the adjustment...). No heater involved.

PS and I really dislike sweeping panglossian marketing statements...
