75% casualties among the sparrows
100% casualties among the two closest blackbird families, the local area has almost none when there were many
100% casualties among the wrens
very high casualties among the assorted small birds
50% casualties among the woodies, ditto townies

silent summer

as a little good news, the 7 sparrows have been joined by 5 from the next flock along, 2 of whom look like ones who grew up and moved to a new colony last year

food water safety in numbers and plenty of available real estate

i forgot, approx 40% casualties among the local jackdaw community, my two "pet" ones are ok

the sammisons were in a nice damp mouse castle bunker and seem fine

invertebrate world, hard to tell so far, the mix changes week by week and year by year(developing ecosystem with invertebrate munchers)

the soil based ones seem fine, it was cold watered a few times
the crevice based ones are ok in some places
the exposed on plants ones might have been toasted, not many foliage based bugs and beetles at the mo
when it was very hot, and humid in the yard, quite a few were happy in the carboniferous and did a week's life in an afternoon

Rather hard to tell casualties here. There are a lot of pigeons around, and I understand the peregrine has been seen locally, which explains the tap dancing on the roof of the trailer, as they keep low when it is on the hunt. Not too many butterflies in the garden, but as it is dry the buddliah won't be producing much.

all trying to raise a brood in a roof void nest are gone, all with eggs or neo chicks are gone

i do not know about the grins yet, they do have a rather high cliff ledge on a big hot building if they were nest rather than personally orientated

it seems the survivors of the two most local(and related)sparrow colonies have teamed up to create a 2/3 size colony
15 adults and a handful of juveniles, no recent fledglings and there should be dozens

I heard a wren yesterday in the woods. Haven't heard one for some time, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.
