Hope you have enough light there for it.

Good luck with them. By the sounds of it you should have enough heat there too.

they have migrated to the top of the woodshed, a big boy up the backside and another across the side side, ooh err mrs

both places have half day direct light at this time of year

the bramble is a bit enthusiastic to use shiny corner

the flowers on the bramble look to have potential for a huge crop

Yes, I was looking round the wood yesterday and the blackberries there seem to have some good flowers on. There have been some wild raspberries in flower there for a week or two and some wild strawberries in flower, but I don't usually get any of those as the small mammals get them first. Lots of mast on some of the beech trees too.

they are both a lot bigger than they were on tuesday, above soil level they are about twice as big

one is going for tall the other for stout, ideal for the spaces they need to take

the lads got a bit bigger, when i put them in those pots the top four leaves were above the soil 20 days ago

hopefully i can lead one round the corner onto sunny wall where a previous one thrived to give them plenty of space

the sammisons will need "the talk" one at a time is fine, a nibble of many is not

bigger and setting fruit on the lower multiple trusses

both of them have gone for a bushy theme, some do tall
that might be cos i buried them up to the top 4 leaves to give them extra roots

Glad they are doing well. My tomatoes seem to be doing all right too. Fruit set on the lower trusses coming on nicely.

in good years, whatever they are, bigboys do seem to do well outside on the wall corner

last year the 2 types of toms and shiny walls with the bramble in first year trim did ok, now it is too dark in that corner with an industrial amount of blackberries looming over it

thinking of which, tis a good bramble year, not just due to the pruning phase but a good year for these ones
the wild ones are not so prolific, not a surprise considering the hedge's soil, hydrology and guano input

Does seem to be a good year. Husband said the one by the entrance to the woods was covered in red admiral butterflies yesterday with several males fighting.
