i was watching an earthx documentary, they are rife in the south and if i saw a bit of the map of there range they seem to have got to pensylvania

any sigh of them in NJ or the north east states ?

huge, part domestic and part german boar introduced for hunting

the louisiana folk seem to hunt with bay dogs and then get personal for a live catch before getting culinary on its hairy ass at home

i would use bait, a nightsight and a .410 nitro from a tree

bigger and more assertive than wild boar(the only critter dick admitted to scaring him)
i climbed a tree at the sounds of snuffling and a piggy aroma and voices in the FOD, probably wise as we did not meet

if they do establish a north east population they will be a problem, eat the scouts

ps a medium adult male is 135kg with big tusks and a robust attitude, big uns get bigger

No reproducing populations in the Northeast as of yet, as far as I know.
There was a game farm that had boar escape many years ago, but I think they must have all been dispatched.
NJ and PA have more than enough of an issue just from the rampant deer

Perhaps it ought to be in wildlife, but we saw a small herd of fallow deer yesterday. What looked like the dominant stag crossed the road in front of us, so we slowed down expecting more to cross. They didn't but several, including a younger stag in the trees by the road, and some in the woods the other side. Haven't seen them on that road before, even though they are in that area, but we were later than I usually use that road. I wouldn't like to meet that stag if it was defending its does, and have seen the result of a car versus red deer accident; think driver and stag were killed. Nasty.
