Hearing more birds now, but the main thing is that spring is springing all over the place. The beech leaves in the next wood to ours are virtually all out, though not fully unfurled, while those in our part are only on the smaller trees and the odd big one. A lovely patch of violets in grass on the way into the wood, the bluebells are coming up to flower, so a haze of blue starting, primroses, barren strawberry, ground ivy and more along the way. Our lawn is covered in primroses, violets and cowslips (and false oxlips) and I have attendant robins every time I do any work in the veg patch. |
