as i have replaced my big pan(last one fed to a wedding extraction, and the one before a 50 lt monster better suited to watering young fruit trees from a pond) i have a task of clearance
some of my mummified pig is more than a decade mature
on the over door shelf it has been mostly "resting" apart from a few earlyish vinegar washes and a bit more salt
clearing some old stuff might be very pleasant
decadal matured, oak smoked mangalitza x
(miss bacon was "difficult" and sort of tameable) but her parts looked and smelt and tasted ace the last time i got close to her
the first shoulder was delicious several years ago

Started sorting bikes and kit to sell.
I want my sewing/turbo/ spare bedroom back
Isn't stuff to go that will sell the best sort of clearing gz? Money can be kept or spent but takes up no room either way. Unless it's under the mattress of course But we are nice folks here and wouldn't do that, would we?
I believe I have cleared all the obvious "historical" that has no financial value on the open market and no use at home now that everyone has definitely left.
I can now settle down to go round the house again and see what's what. I have a kitchen drawer and a saucepan cupboard. I suspect that I will see my way to more cookery rather than more clearing though.

Cycling kit sorted. And some wardrobe shelves.
Some stuff in the bin (worn out) loads of washing on the line.
Looking to sort an amount for an op shop.
Some NZ kit will go to grandsons...if they haven't grown too much....they will soon be 15
Pirate's sponsored kit that is in hardly used condition will hopefully return to his club sponsor.
I am slimming down thanks to daily exercise...but I need to go through dresses and think...will I ever fit or suit that again?
I'll join you in the looking into the clothing stores gz. Don't think any of it is worth throwing out or donating. Wardrobe is very full. At least there won't be any replacement costs there.
But that won't be tomorrow. I've had enough of deep clearing out for a few days. The mood has gone. I've had to reorganise the sitting room furniture today so that I can use all the wall electrical plugs.
I have a picture on WhatsApp from the family to show that the garden seat that came out of the allotment shed in October 2023 has been mended and someone can now sit on it. I couldn't mend it, not having the appropriate tools and bits.

You do have to be in the right mood to do this....or desperate
Somehow in our house it doesn't seem to make much of a dent. Husband went through some old coats yesterday and they just got all put back because he didn't actually check if the zips worked or anything. When I get the time and energy, I will go through the things hanging in the hall and sort them out properly.
I've rearranged the living room now that so much clutter has gone. It's bigger than it was
I've bought a new digital radio for the times when the computer is off (and it can be moved round the bungalow too which the computer can't). The one that I have in the bedroom is beginning to show it's age due to wear and tear so this is backup as well as in a different room.
Now the modern digital radio can be tuned to the internet if you have the Wi-Fi facilities at home. This means you have the whole of the internet radio system open to you. Thing is, if you change internet provider you've got the hassle of returning the radio. And you can do it on the computer anyway.
You also get the facility to use Spotify and Bluetooth. But how many of us do these on our mobile phones? Most of the younger generation in my family (all those under 60 that is which is most of them) do that anyway. So many mobile phones are mini computers anyway. Radio is possibly behind the times.
I have a garden seat from the old allotment shed that next time family member is down from Scotland with time he can look to see if it's foot will mend and take or else it's for the tip.
Apparently it took under 60 seconds to fix and is now a very comfy garden seat in Scotland.
our back yard has been upsized by downsizing, mostly useless stuff apart from a decent chainsaw and ppe
and enough of the downsizing was repurposed to improve the mouse castle etc for me to not be too upset that potentially useful things went to recycling
over 4 large skips and several 4 cuM truck loads and ten or so estate car visits to the tip there is still lots in the house that needs to go
at one point i half filled a 7cuM skip with VHS tapes and dead electronics/electrical things

One rather large shopping bag of assorted books taken to the second hand emporium, for which I received £10
Other books sorted to go to family in Kent along with some of Pirate's belongings.
I must photograph his brothers DFC and Bar and his uncles awards from WW1 , they are to go to Pirate's nephew.
Tomorrow's job as it is too dark now
I pulled out a tee-shirt from the wardrobe that turned out to be a bit too tight this morning when getting dressed. Found one that fitted.
That has led to the promised turn out of the wardrobe. There's a bag to go to the charity shop - missed the last bus into town but it was before the bus pass is usable so a saving of £2.50.
I've now got enough hangers to be able to hang everything up. A success there then.
