I've rearranged the living room now that so much clutter has gone. It's bigger than it was
I've bought a new digital radio for the times when the computer is off (and it can be moved round the bungalow too which the computer can't). The one that I have in the bedroom is beginning to show it's age due to wear and tear so this is backup as well as in a different room.
Now the modern digital radio can be tuned to the internet if you have the Wi-Fi facilities at home. This means you have the whole of the internet radio system open to you. Thing is, if you change internet provider you've got the hassle of returning the radio. And you can do it on the computer anyway.
You also get the facility to use Spotify and Bluetooth. But how many of us do these on our mobile phones? Most of the younger generation in my family (all those under 60 that is which is most of them) do that anyway. So many mobile phones are mini computers anyway. Radio is possibly behind the times.
I have a garden seat from the old allotment shed that next time family member is down from Scotland with time he can look to see if it's foot will mend and take or else it's for the tip.
Apparently it took under 60 seconds to fix and is now a very comfy garden seat in Scotland.
our back yard has been upsized by downsizing, mostly useless stuff apart from a decent chainsaw and ppe
and enough of the downsizing was repurposed to improve the mouse castle etc for me to not be too upset that potentially useful things went to recycling
over 4 large skips and several 4 cuM truck loads and ten or so estate car visits to the tip there is still lots in the house that needs to go
at one point i half filled a 7cuM skip with VHS tapes and dead electronics/electrical things

One rather large shopping bag of assorted books taken to the second hand emporium, for which I received £10
Other books sorted to go to family in Kent along with some of Pirate's belongings.
I must photograph his brothers DFC and Bar and his uncles awards from WW1 , they are to go to Pirate's nephew.
Tomorrow's job as it is too dark now
I pulled out a tee-shirt from the wardrobe that turned out to be a bit too tight this morning when getting dressed. Found one that fitted.
That has led to the promised turn out of the wardrobe. There's a bag to go to the charity shop - missed the last bus into town but it was before the bus pass is usable so a saving of £2.50.
I've now got enough hangers to be able to hang everything up. A success there then.
Ah it's down to things that have worn out now. The large go to pan for cooking no longer cleans and its lid is "knackered". Can't recycle that on Facebook (and don't want to risk food poisoning). Nor the cheap shredder that has died and a new one is on order.
I put my hand up to one bad buy in the chopping board. Doesn't clean. Been replaced.
Have a perfectly good small saucepan that used to be the go too for heating baked beans - now have a cheap microwave. Also have baking tins for mince pies and such - all good but not used. Discussion with self. Think to go. Don't do cakes at home any more and rarely out in assorted cafes when travelling. Right off to sort out the kitchen.
Son had a fitted microwave in a very inconvenient place over the main oven in the bungalow they moved into, so managed to get it out, and we have it now. It is in fact, better than the one they already had, but we use it a lot. At least husband does; since we got that and the air fryer, he does quite a lot of cooking now. I do the clever stuff still.
This down sizing thing is catching. Next door neighbour is under orders to take life a little bit easier. She has a room to redecorate. You should see the "stuff" that has come out of there. One of the large household general waste bin out for tomorrow well full and a generous amount in the half empty bin from her neighbour on the other side.
We were sat in the sun in our respective gardens this afternoon supposedly drinking coffee/coke when neighbour decided to look in her shed for space so that she could clear mower out of the greenhouse to allow for for some tomatoes which I have to pot up for her.
I suspect that this tidy up will just allow for more junk in the future as she admits to hoarding instincts. Whatever, she's lovely.
Long pause. The garden has been undergoing a redesign. Over half of what has gone/is to go is in the garden waste bin for emptying tomorrow. We are talking a hefty and overgrown shrub here that I was given free some years ago as a small monster. It's an eyesore - I saw it and thought it shouldn't be there.

I have started cleaning bike bits ready to sell. This is quite a long job, not just because there is a lot of it!
Things need to be cleaned, checked as ok ( if not they join the box to go to the blacksmith in Carrick Artists Collective for his artwork) identified , priced and listed.
There is a large Cycle "Jumble" in Manchester Velodrome in January usually...I won't be ready before then.
Could you take the stuff you have dealt with already to it Gz? That way you get a bit of money and a bit of room and perhaps the rest will be ready for the following year. Sounds a very long job.

It is a long job, I should have enough by January. Hopefully I can shift two complete bikes and most of the frames before then.
I'm on the organisers list..he just emailed me about the August one, but I should be in France then, and being outside in Manchester, weather and results can be variable
I foresee another call for a local van to visit the local tip at the end of the gardening season. I couldn't carry it all on the bus (well 2 buses now) and they don't allow foot traffic into the tip anyway.
There may be a few knackered household items but not as many as the last time. Shame the family moved - they used to include my crap along with theirs periodically.
